Director of Media & Brand Strategy — Proposal
Grooper is building the future of AI-powered document intelligence. This is a proposal to build the media program that makes the world take notice.
You're no longer just a document processing company. You're an AI platform serving healthcare, finance, higher education, oil & gas, government — and you're growing fast.
The technology is there. The clients are there. What's missing is a media program powerful enough to match the ambition — one that turns customer wins into cinematic proof, makes your engineers feel like pioneers, and gives your sales team assets that open doors before they knock.
That's what I build.
Grooper serves healthcare, finance, higher education, oil & gas, and government — sectors where trust is everything. Right now there's no cinematic client proof, no podcast, no employer brand presence. That's not a weakness. It's a blank canvas.
Most enterprise software companies tell their story through features and pricing pages. Grooper has real clients with real outcomes — Braum's, Oklahoma State, American Airlines FCU, Sally Beauty. Those are documentaries waiting to be made.
Grooper joined Microsoft for Startups in 2025. AI document intelligence is mainstream news. The companies that build their media presence now will own the narrative when the market fully consolidates.
I'm Mat Miller, founder of 1984 Studios. I've spent years producing cinematic documentary work — mini-docs, brand films, artist portraits — that find the human story inside complex subjects and make it impossible to look away.
I've traveled to Savannah, Austin, and Santo Domingo for a single story. I've filmed inside galleries, on stage, in workshops — wherever the moment lives. My work has screened at the SCAD Film Festival and placed artists and organizations in front of audiences they couldn't reach on their own.
Now I want to bring that discipline to Grooper: to build a media program from the ground up, inside an Oklahoma-headquartered company that's doing genuinely interesting things with AI and data.
This isn't a contract position to me. It's a directorship — and I plan to run it like one.

Two-campaign influencer series produced for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. 17 influencers across two campaigns — 7 highlighted here, including Greyson Chance — shot vertical-native for social distribution. Click any thumbnail to watch.
The program doesn't start at full speed. It starts with listening, learning, and delivering early wins that prove the model before scaling it.
Every metric below maps directly to a business outcome — not a vanity number. This program exists to drive growth, trust, and talent acquisition.
LinkedIn followers, YouTube subscribers, podcast listeners, video completion rates, and content shares — tracked monthly with trend analysis.
Attribution tracking on which content pieces (mini-docs, podcast episodes, social clips) are driving demo requests and sales conversations.
Application volume, candidate quality scores, and hiring manager feedback on whether media content is moving the needle in recruiting pipelines.
View counts, time-on-page, and sales team usage of mini-docs in active deals. A case study that doesn't get watched doesn't help close business.
Total assets in the searchable library, organized by format, vertical, and use case. Quarterly asset utilization reports showing what's actually being used.
For each strategic initiative or product launch supported by media — reach, engagement, and conversion outcomes reported against objectives set in advance.
I'm ready to start — and I'm ready to build something that lasts. If you want to talk through any part of this proposal, let's get on a call.
